About the artist.
KASSEUS is a contemporary multidisciplinary artist born and raised in London. His creative process spans a wide range of mediums, including fashion photography, urban photography, digital art, paper collage, fine art, textiles, 3D modelling, projection mapping, sound design and music production. His work juxtaposes studio fashion photography with weathered urban textures and intricate mixed media collage. By fusing traditional and modern techniques, KASSEUS produces a unique and original visual language, evoking both curiosity and a somber sense of hope in his creations.
KASSEUS' artistic approach stems from his upbringing, during which he learned and experimented with different mediums before establishing himself as a fashion photographer in the early 2000s. Though he left fashion photography to pursue mixed media art full-time, he still personally photographs his models, forging a personal connection with his art while paying tribute to his past. His multidisciplinary philosophy extends to live performances, where he explains:
"My live art shows combine a variety of personal interests. I assemble my collages in front of an intimate audience while DJing music and controlling 3D projection light art that synchronizes with the evolving artwork and the music. This projection technique also directs the audience's attention, illuminating each new collage element as it is applied to the canvas."
